The Soundtrack to Phelps' Brain

So I was out on MySpace, checking on a friend's page. He posted about a website listing music that promotes being queer, or is otherwise homo-friendly. It lists safe groups and dangerous groups.

Among the naughty groups/artists: Cole Porter, the Grateful Dead, Barry Manilow, Morrissey, The Doors, and Frank Sinatra. (And of course Elton John, Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Madonna, Cher, etc.)

Among the safe groups: Dresden Dolls, Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Cheap Trick, and Evanescence.

Someone had commented on the blog post, and mentioned that Donnie, the "gentleman" that is maintaining the list, also has a music video out there. Since I believe in keeping friends close and enemies closer, I thought I'd be a sport and take a listen. I'm not sure Fred Phelps could have written a better (read: more bigotted, horrifying, insane, etc.) ditty. It's called The Bible Says. Warning: If you're not ready to hear "God Hates Fags" done as Christian pop, do NOT follow the link. I admit...there's something disconcerting about a sugary beat proclaiming "If you're a fag, he hates you too..."

This is proof that the human capacity for stupidity is truly limitless.

Posting for posting's sake

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Between sickness, Jerry's 50th birthday party in Denver, AIDS Walk, and life in general it's been a busy time. Sometimes I hate "Spring." ;) I don't have anything thought provoking to share today. I've been busting ass on cleaning up some AIDS Walk reservation messes, and to be honest, I'm tired. So there it is...too tired to post anything substantive. I did want to share one piece of news with the faithful readers, though.

The position at the Matthew Shepard Foundation has been filled, but was not posted. And no...it isn't me. If you don't know what this means, what I'm talking about, etc. that's okay. :) For those who do, I'm doing okay (thanks to Jess, Andrew, Scotty, and Linus for helping me get/stay that way). I'm just repeating to myself "the universe will provide" and watching for whatever comes along next.

That is all.
